Chapter: 1805
When Annis visited him at his workplace, he even thought it might harm his reputation and prevented her from seeking him out.
She wished for a wedding, but he brushed it off, citing his busy work schedule. Despite her pregnancy, he didn't show interest in giving her the wedding she desired. Instead, he seemed content with keeping their relationship like this.
However, he was now filled with regret.
Selfishness took the better of him.
He acknowledged his bad behavior.
At that moment, he admitted he shouldn't have treated her that way.
A grimace flashed on his face as he got lost in thought.
Unsure of how to fix things, he pondered how to alleviate her pain and sorrow.
"I really want to apologize to her. I get that seeing me might upset her. If she wants to leave, I'll let her. I'll give her time to cool down. Once I find those responsible, I'll seek justice for her. Then I'll go find her." Alick looked up and asked, “Has she woken up for now? I want to look at her while she's sleeping.”
Camila turned her face to the side, using her hand to gently wipe away the tears. In a soft voice, she said, “You can go inside. She won't wake up for a few hours."
Alick rose and approached the door. As he reached for the doorknob, he paused and reassured Camila, "It's not your fault. What's done is done. Let's try to find some relief."
Camila bowed her head and expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you."
Then, he opened the door and stepped inside without saying anything else.
Meanwhile, Camila stayed outside.
She sat on the bench, lost in thought.
"Mila."
A gentle voice brought her back to reality.
Startled, she looked behind her and noticed Rowena approaching.
Swiftly, Camila mustered a smile. "Mom, what are you doing here?"
Rowena responded with a smile, “Isaac asked me to bring you some food."
