Chapter: 1806
She placed the lunch box aside and observed Camila closely. "You don't look so well. What happened?"

Camila shook her head in denial. “I'm fine."

Rowena persisted, suggesting, "Since you are fine, why not grab something to eat?" She opened the lunch box and handed the food to Camila. "Did you have an argument with Isaac?"

Rowena guessed, picking up on Camila's uneasy expression. At that moment, she sensed something was wrong.

She had also noticed earlier that Isaac was in a bad mood as well.

Camila, with the lunch box in hand, looked down and quietly denied, "No."

Rowena could sense that something was bothering Camila.

She offered comfort in a gentle tone, saying, "No matter what Isaac said or did, I believe he still cares about you. He asked me to send you some food because he was worried you might not be eating well."

Trying to hold back tears, Camila questioned, "Mom, am I wrong?"

"What?" Rowena furrowed her brows, confused.

Camila, biting her lip, expressed her concerns, “Should I have skipped work and taken care of the kids at home? Isaac is so busy that he doesn't have time for the children. I should be a supportive wife, help with his work, and manage the family. You should be enjoying your retirement, but you're still looking after the kids for me. Am I being selfish? I gave birth to the children but seldom raise them."

With a concerned look on her face, Rowena inquired, "Is this causing arguments between you two?" Then, she added, “I'm still young, and I'm happy to see my two grandchildren every day. Plus, Glenda helps me at home, so I'm not tired."

A smile flashed across Rowena's face. Then, she continued, “I support your decision to work. Is it your work that makes Isaac unhappy because you can't focus on your family now?"

She looked directly at Camila's eyes.

Camila remained silent.

At that moment, she seemed to accept the situation.

The notion of equality between men and women was widely acknowledged.

Camila questioned the societal expectation for women to stay home while men pursued business.

While acknowledging that she didn't earn as much as Isaac, she took pride in the meaningful nature of her work.

It was something that was part of her self-—value.
