Chapter: 1811
Nelson, feigning ignorance of her distress, suggested, “Let's head back home."

Gently cradling Annis, he mentioned, “I've arranged for them to make your most loved dishes. You probably missed our home's cooking a lot while in Azmar, didn't you?"

"Yes, I've missed it tremendously," she replied.

"You've always had a big appetite for tasty food ever since you were little," Nelson remarked affectionately.

Annis, touched by his thoughtful words, felt tears welling up.

"Dad," she whispered.

Overwhelmed, she began to cry, clinging to her father.

He soothed her, rubbing her back, “You're grown up now. Why the tears like a little kid? Are you this upset because Alick was mean to you? I'd hop on a plane to Azmar this instant to sort him out..."

“Dad," she interrupted, hastening to clarify, "No, he wasn't mean to me."

"Then why the tears? Missing me too much?"

“Exactly, I've missed you so much, Let's go home. I am just homesick."

Camila quietly trailed behind them.

She thought it was a wise decision to bring Annis back to Nelson.

This way, Annis wouldn't think about harming herself again.

Observing them together, Camila felt a twinge of envy for Annis having such a caring father.

Nelson, who loved Annis deeply, was not even her biological father.

This made Camila reflect on her own dad. Growing up, she barely felt any paternal affection, as he always seemed distant and aloof.

Her memories were filled with his coldness and misunderstandings.

Shaking off these thoughts, Camila hastened to catch up with Nelson and Annis.

She had already booked her return flight when she came here.
