Chapter: 1814
Isaac turned around and declared, "We're family. I won't mind it."
Rowena felt a touch of embarrassment.
He paused and said sincerely, “You're an excellent mother. You've always been great to her, and to me too."
He sensed that she genuinely cared for Camila.
Indeed, she was a capable mother.
Rowena was puzzled.
Why was he bringing this up all of a sudden?
However, his earnest look suggested he wasn't kidding.
She couldn't resist but burst into Laughter.
At four in the afternoon, Camila stepped off the plane.
Instead of heading home, she made her way to the research institute.
She hadn't been to work for two days.
New in her role, she worried about missing work so soon.
She feared her colleagues might think less of her.
And her concerns were not unfounded.
As Camila approached the hospital entrance, she spotted Hilaria chatting with another coworker.
"I openly backed her in the meeting, fearing she might make things difficult for me at work if I upset her."
The other woman arched her eyebrows, questioning Hilaria, "So, you just pretended to be on her side?"
Hilaria felt deeply moved by Camila's words at that moment.
Yet, she had her own reasons for bravely backing Camila.
