Chapter: 1815
She worried that Camila might turn against her at work in the future.
“I'm always straight and honest. I don't sneak around or play games. Relax, I won't hold your words against you."
Hilaria tensed up when she heard this.
She couldn't even bring herself to look back.
Then, Camila kept walking, without any pause.
Feeling awkward, Hilaria was at a loss for a bit.
After hesitating briefly, she hurried over to explain, "Camila, I didn't mean..."
Camila paused and gave her a cold look. “Focus on your work. Don't overthink things. I'm not fond of scheming or indecision. I have to go now."
Hilaria caught the edge of Camila's clothes and apologized, “I'm sorry."
In that moment, she truly understood her mistake.
Camila pulled away without a word.
Hyman, unlike Hilaria, did appreciate Camila.
Surprised to see her, he asked, “It's almost closing time. Why are you here now? You don't look well. Haven't you been resting properly these past few days? How's your driver?"
She shook her head. She hadn't been home yet, so she didn't know his condition.
Looking around, she noticed that no one was slacking off at work in her absence.
Camila felt a sense of gratitude.
"Would you like to head back and rest a bit?" he asked. Previously, Hyman wasn't too fond of her, but now he showed concern.
Camila, in this environment, felt genuinely moved.
Yet, she didn't go straight home. She chose to go to her office instead.
Her plan was to take a brief nap, but she ended up sleeping soundly.
