Chapter: 1819
She took a sip of the milk, feeling reassured.
After their meal, they encountered someone at the door...
Camila and Isaac came across the driver, injured, at the doorway.
He apologized, "Mr. Johnston, I'm sorry I failed to save the lady..."
Isaac understood the driver had done everything he could.
"I've arranged for someone else to cover for you. Just concentrate on getting better," Isaac offered comfortingly.
Even though Isaac didn't hold the driver responsible, the driver was still hard on himself, thinking he could have done more to save her.
“Mrs. Johnston, thank you," the driver said, expressing his gratitude.
His recovery was swift because Camila had promptly attended to his injuries.
Having worked for the Johnston family, he recognized Camila's humble nature.
It always amazed him how she saw no difference between employer and employee, caring for him without any hesitation or reluctance.
Camila just smiled and said, "I'm happy to help."
Being a doctor, she felt it was her responsibility to take care of those who were sick or hurt.
After all, he had gotten injured trying to protect her.
"Let's go!" Isaac called out and walked towards the door.
Pausing for a moment, Camila turned to the driver and asked, “Did Hyman give you the medicine?"
The driver nodded and said, "He did."
"Make sure you take it as directed and rest up. You'll feel better soon," she advised.
"I will. Thanks, Mrs. Johnston." The driver gave a thankful bow.
"You're welcome," Camila responded and hurried to catch up with Isaac.
