Chapter: 1924
"Spill it!"
Forrest sighed, "I wanted to ask Mila about Laura, but she seemed cautious around me, so I didn't. Does she know something?"
"You're overthinking it," Isaac interrupted. "Haven't you been concentrating on your work lately? Good, keep it up.”
Forrest was speechless.
He pondered silently, wondering if one truly ignored others‘ when themselves were suffering they happy.
Now that he and Camila were happy, the problems of others seemed insignificant.
"Fine then." Forrest leaned back.
Isaac put down his fork. “If you find someone suitable, just go for it. The world doesn't revolve around just one woman."
"Who are you to be all judgy on me?" Forrest hadn't forgotten Isaac's deep misery over Camila in the past, feeling like life had lost its meaning.
Isaac looked at him sternly for a moment, then scoffed, "I'm trying to look out for you. Don't be ungrateful by bringing up my past."
Forrest laughed and said, "Getting ruffled?"
Isaac, ignoring him, stood up and walked toward the door, pausing to make it clear to Forrest to abandon any lingering hopes. "Mila told me Laura's starting a new life, so you should let it go."
With that, he took a few steps and then stopped.
At that moment, Forrest followed him out.
“What do you mean by that?"
Isaac's voice was indifferent. "Figure it out yourself."
Before walking away, he added, "Stop calling her ‘Mila’."
Forrest was speechless again.
"I've always called her that. It's not going to be easy to suddenly stop." Forrest believed that conceding too quickly would make things too simple for Isaac. He wanted to provoke Isaac on purpose.
After all, he didn't want Isaac to have it too easy.
