Chapter: 1933
Camila flew downstairs in a rush and saw Joe playing in the living room after breakfast.
"Are you ready for breakfast?" Glenda asked her as she rounded the corner. “The table is prepared for you.”
But Camila frantically shook her head. "No, I can't."
Rowena stepped forward to stop her. “I know that you are busy, but the least you can do is finish one full meal before you go to work.”
Camila stopped short, utterly torn.
“That's right," Glenda chimed in. “Your health is still more important than your career. Listen to your mother and eat your breakfast."
Camila glanced between the two women who cared for her the most in the world. In the end, she had no choice but to trudge to the dining table.
Glenda hovered, placing pieces of food into Camila's plate.
However, Camila was not to be deterred from her work. She made a call to Hyman, even as she took a bite of her breakfast.
At that point, Rowena walked over and snatched the phone from her hand. “Eat properly and enjoy your meal."
Camila was speechless. With a small, resigned sigh, she lowered her head and proceeded to eat in silence.
Glenda stood to the side, beaming as she watched her. "Mr. Johnston would never dare to reprimand you like this. It's a good thing that your mother is here. Someone is able to call you out on your unhealthy habits."
Camila swallowed her food and gave Glenda a look. “Why are you dog-piling on me?"
“It is all for your own good," Glenda huffed.
“Exactly," Rowena nodded along.
Camila sighed again.
Her mother didn't let her get up from the table until she finished all of her food.
“My phone," she said, holding out her hand as she pushed her chair back.
Rowena tossed the device over without a word.
"Don't worry. I'll be home early later."
