Chapter: 1935
Catching up, Alick grabbed her wrist. “Why are you in such a hurry?" he asked, his voice calm.
Annis, on the other hand, was far from calm.
She detested his touch, feeling a wave of disgust each time.
“Let go of me!" she demanded, her tone stern.
Despite her resistance, Alick held on. “I came here to see you, and yet you avoid me. It makes me feel sad."
He attempted to persuade Annis to let go of the past.
He softly suggested, "I'm here with genuine intentions. How about we watch a movie tonight?"
Annis stood her ground, her response cold. "Let go of me!"
But Alick didn't relent. Smiling, he said, "All right, don't be so angry."
When words failed to free her, Annis lowered her head and bit his hand hard, hoping pain would make him release her.
Even as she tasted blood, Alick remained unmoved.
He met her gaze steadily. "You bit me once before," he reminded her.
Annis remembered the moment when she and Alick had sex shortly after meeting each other.
It felt like a distant past, and the happiness once there had faded.
She couldn't have been that simple anymore.
She looked at Alick and confessed, "I'm not who I used to be..."
“You've always been special to me. You'll always be the same in my heart. That won't change." Alick smiled, feeling an urge to hug her.
Annis's face turned pale in an instant. "Don't touch me!"
Her outburst was so sudden that Alick stepped back without thinking.
Their scene had drawn quite a crowd.
