Chapter: 2003
Isaac scooped up the baby. "Nope."
“Then why do you seem off?" Camila prodded.
She looked at him with scrutiny.
Isaac met her gaze, then suddenly grinned. "I was just messing with you."
Camila was at a loss for words.
She bit her lip, playfully tapping his shoulder. "You're such a pain. Always teasing me."
Isaac smirked. "Teasing? Me? It seems I'm too old to do that."
Camila glanced around, then gave him a playful shove. "You're too much at home, saying whatever comes to mind."
Isaac grinned but stayed quiet.
"No..."
Catching his attempt to dodge, Camila pressed, “You still haven't told me. Where were you? Spill the beans!"
She grabbed his arm.
Isaac held Bowen calmly in his arms, seated on the sofa. As he playfully teased his son, he casually dropped the news. “Robin has died."
Camila's face froze. "Robin died?" she echoed, a flicker of confusion crossing her features. “Which Robin?"
“The one named Johnston," Isaac replied, his voice devoid of emotion.
Startled, Camila took a moment to grasp his meaning. “Dead? Did he die from his illness?" She knew Robin had been unwell, battling a severe condition kept at bay by potent medications. The news seemed premature.
“He died from anger," Isaac said, his eyes not meeting hers, his demeanor as calm and detached as if discussing the weather.
Camila's eye twitched involuntarily. "Did you cause his death?"
"There's an indirect connection," he admitted without Looking at her.
Camila was speechless for a moment before she took the child from Isaac's arms and handed him to Glenda. Then she swiftly pulled Isaac upstairs.
