Chapter: 2035
"Don't feel too secure. You're just lucky to have met someone as kind as my father. With anyone less forgiving, you'd find yourself in deep trouble and wouldn't escape so easily."
“Should I be thanking you, then, for this eye-opening lecture?"
Camila gave him a chilly look.
"You're welcome." He brushed past her shoulder and walked briskly toward the ward.
Camila remained motionless.
Her lips parted slightly.
She had to acknowledge that she had indeed learned something today.
She wasn't sure she'd react the same if a similar situation arose in the future.
After all, acting on impulse could have grave consequences.
Luckily, the storm had passed for now.
Standing at the hospital's entrance, she looked up. The sunlight was blinding.

She stepped down the steps.
Eagle pulled up in his car.
As she was about to get into her car, another car sped up and halted right beside her.
The car looked vaguely familiar.
It was Alick stepping out of the vehicle.
"Why are you here?" she asked, puzzled. She had noticed earlier that the car resembled Alick's.
She hadn't imagined it actually was his.
"I just had to take someone to the hospital," Alick explained.
