Chapter: 2063
“Who are you? What's happening?" she shouted. "Why did you arrest me?"
Alick shot her a cold glance. “You really don't know why we're arresting you?" he asked.
“Running away like this, what are you hiding?"
“I'm just going on a vacation! Who says I can't leave the country?"
The nurse was pretty defiant, despite her growing fear.
Alick pulled out a bank transfer record and asked, "So, who wired you this money?"
The nurse didn't miss a beat. "That was from my parents. Is that a problem?" she replied, not backing down.
Her quick response surprised Alick, and he chuckled. “Okay, you can keep pretending if you want," he said with a smirk.
Then his expression shifted, and he warned, "But you won't learn until it's too late!"
The nurse tried to play it cute. “Come on, sir, let me go. I'm just too young to understand any of this..."
“Don't make any excuse."
Alick raised an eyebrow. "You must know what you're doing no matter how young you are."
“I'm sorry!" the nurse quickly apologized. “I truly realized my mistake!"
Alick shot her a sneer. "Do you think a mere apology could set you free? Besides, you're not sincerely apologizing at all!"
The nurse's cheeks turned pale.
Alick's tone grew dark. "Listen, don't waste time with this nonsense. If you come clean, you might get out of this in one piece. But if you keep playing games, I guarantee you'll wish you hadn't," he said, his voice hard.
The nurse tightened her lips, refusing to say anything.
Alick continued, saying, "I wouldn't be here if I didn't have a solid lead. I have enough evidence to find you. Think hard about whether you want to keep this up or tell us what you know.”
The car screeched to a halt.
Alick yanked the young nurse out and tossed her onto the pavement.
