She peeked inside the house. "You have guests?"

Camila guided her further in. "Let me introduce them. This is Laura, my dear friend. This is Morrison, Laura's husband."

Annis greeted him with a nod. "Hello."

Laura returned the greeting with a smile.

Since that incident, Annis hadn't been as lively as she used to be.

She had become much more quiet.

Laura stood up. "It's been a while since I've been here, and I'd like to show Morrison around."

With the visitor already there, she took the opportunity to excuse herself.

Camila wasn't sure if Annis’ sudden return meant anything unusual.

Nonetheless, she consented.

She escorted Laura to the door.

Linking arms with her, Camila proposed, “Join us for dinner tonight. Ever since you came back, we've missed these gatherings."

Laura accepted. "Okay."

Camila then arranged for the family driver to drive them.

It was difficult for them to visit without a car.

“You're pregnant. Take the car, and the driver will take you," Camila offered.

Laura gratefully accepted her offer. “Then I'll accept without hesitation."

"You've been such a tremendous support to me, and I've never stood on ceremony with you either," Camila responded.

She closed the car door for them, watched as they drove away, and then walked back into the house.

"Would you like something to drink?" Camila asked.
