“I just got here today," Annis replied with a smile.

Seeing she was in a good mood, Alick touched his nose awkwardly and said, "I thought you were mad at me. It almost scared me to death.”

“But you look more alive than ever," Annis retorted teasingly.

"Stop it," Alick said gently, walking over and taking Bowen from her.

Then, leaning forward, he whispered in her ear, “Did you come to see me?"

Annis nodded. "I know you're too busy to spare me time, so I figured I'd fly here to see you."

Warmth covered his heart at her words.

The urge to pull her into his arms and hold her was strong, but he knew they weren't alone and it wasn't their house, so he held back and just smiled.

Watching the two, Isaac and Camila stood up and went to the kitchen, leaving them with some privacy.

Isaac figured he wasn't needed in the kitchen, so he kicked back and watched Camila try to help in setting the table.

Glenda was the cook, while Rowena assisted her.

“Fortunately, the kitchen is spacious. We have enough room for everyone," Camila commented with a smile.

Isaac frowned inwardly. Although he liked having people around, he preferred being alone with Camila the most.

“We're already finished here, guys. You can go and wait outside,"

Rowena said, waving the couple off.

"Yes. Go, shoo!" Glenda also drove them away.

"Fine, fine!" Camila took Isaac's hand and pulled him out of the kitchen.

They found the living room empty when they walked in.

Alick and Annis were outside in the yard with Bowen.

Joining them there, Isaac and Camila walked over and offered to take the Little boy so the two could have some alone time.
