Sometimes, Isaac was really hard to understand.

Soon, it was past six in the evening.

Isaac kept his word and arrived home with Alick shortly after the call.

Alick had been swamped with work in the past days that he rarely had the time to text or respond to Annis' messages.

Fortunately, everything had been settled.

With well-deserved free time now in his hands, Alick wanted nothing more than to head straight to Faymoor and see Annis.

However, Isaac asked him a favor to accompany him to dinner because a guest would come over.

Alick couldn't say no, so he was at Isaac's house instead of the airport and postponed his schedule to fly over for one more day.

Sitting on the sofa in the spacious living room of Isaac's house, Alick sent a message to Annis.

"I'm finally going to see you tomorrow. I've already booked the ticket. Can't wait to see you," he said in the message.

Annis was playing with Bowen when she received the text.

Reading it, she couldn't help but smile.

“Aren't you so busy? I know your work is more important than me, so it's fine if you don't come over. I'm already used to being alone, anyway," she replied, teasing him.

Alick frowned, reading her reply. “Are you angry?" he asked.

When Annis replied with a cold "yes", Alick's expression hardened.

Little did he know Annis was behind him with Bowen in her arms. Then, she leaned forward and blew in his ear.

Startled, Alick rose to his feet. "Who the hell-"

He was ready to snarl at whoever was trying to mess with him when he saw Annis.

He paused, and his eyes slowly widened in recognition of her pretty face.

Coming down from his shock, he asked, “Why... Why are you here? When did you arrive?"
