Chapter: 2107
He enveloped her in a comforting embrace before leading her back inside.

“Visit him later, after dinner," Camila suggested softly.

“I will," Isaac affirmed.

Despite Forrest's fleeting presence, his melancholy lingered, casting a shadow over the gathering.

An eerie quiet settled over the room, broken only by the clinking of silverware against plates.

Alick, sensing the need to dispel the heaviness, raised his glass in tribute to Morrison. “Thank you for traveling so far to lend your aid."

Morrison nodded graciously. "It's my pleasure. With the improved traffic, it's quite convenient."

“It was Laura who uncovered Kameron's poisoning," Alick interjected.

“Without her, we wouldn't have resolved the crisis so swiftly."

Reluctant to rebuff Alick's hospitality, Morrison indulged in a few rounds of drinks.

As dinner drew to a close, farewells were exchanged, and the group dispersed.

Camila escorted Laura and Morrison to their waiting car, instructing the driver to transport them back to the hotel.

Though Alick had initially driven, the wine he imbibed prompted Annis to take the wheel. She turned to Camila, requesting, “Prepare a room for me, please. I'll return once I've dropped him off."

"Of course," Camila replied.

Isaac made his preparations to depart, likely headed to check on Forrest.

He intended to drive himself, but Camila interjected firmly, "Have Eagle drive. I won't venture out at night, and he won't need to accompany me."

"Your call," Isaac conceded.

Thus, Eagle assumed the role of chauffeur.

Returning inside, Camila lent a hand in tidying up the table.

"You needn't trouble yourself with this," Glenda remarked with a smile. "Your mother and I will handle it shortly."
