During dinner, Annis revealed that she had booked a flight for the following afternoon.

Glenda had fallen ill upon Annis's return, so she hadn't been eating well for the past two days.

Camila suggested they have lunch out the next day, with Isaac handling the restaurant reservation.

Alick hesitated to speak, causing Annis to assume he was going to request time off. She shot him a warning glare, silently urging him not to ask for leave.

Alick shook his head; he didn't intend to take a long break, just a half-day.

Since Annis had already booked a flight for the next afternoon, he wondered if it would be acceptable to skip the morning at the office.

“I'll handle the restaurant booking tomorrow, and it’s on me," Alick proposed.

He then turned to Isaac, adopting a flattering tone. "May I take a half-day off tomorrow?"

Isaac glanced at him, instantly deciphering Alick's intentions. "Sure," he replied.

The next day, Camila requested a leave from work.

Annis and Alick went out on a date, leaving Camila and Rowena at home.

Joe lay on the sofa, appearing unhappy.

Camila, holding Bowen, approached him. "What's troubling you, Joe?" she inquired gently.

Joe pouted and expressed, “I don't want Annis to leave. I want to play with her."

Camila intervened gently, explaining, "She has work to attend to, Joe.”

“Can't she stop working?" Joe inquired earnestly.

Sitting beside him, Camila touched his head and assured him, “Mommy will play with you more in the future."

But Joe remained skeptical, accusing, “You're lying to me."

Camila felt a pang in her heart at her son's lack of trust. Her voice quivered as she asked, "Have I ever lied to you?"

In all seriousness, Joe responded, “You haven't lied, but you haven't spent much time with me either."
