Chapter: 2134
Camila realized the truth in his words; indeed, her busy schedule left little room for quality time with her son.
Observing his disappointed expression, her heart clenched. "I promise to make it up to you," she promised softly.
“Really? Truly?" Joe questioned, seeking reassurance.
"Absolutely," Camila affirmed.
Joe hesitated briefly before conceding, “I'll trust you for now."
He nestled into Camila's lap and wistfully remarked, "I wish Annis could live with us. I enjoy playing with her."
While Rowena and Glenda usually took care of him, Rowena's age limited her ability to keep up with him.
On the other hand, Annis was outgoing and enjoyed playing with Joe, fostering a strong bond between them.
It was no wonder Joe had grown fond of her.
Meanwhile, Isaac returned home by noon.
Isaac returned to take family out to dinner.
Rowena made sure everything Bowen needed was packed. This included Bowen's stroller, which was loaded into the trunk.
Isaac directed the driver to stow all the items in the car, then gently lifted Bowen from Camila's arms. Bowen, with his fair skin and adorable features, giggled as Isaac kissed his cheek, showing off eight tiny teeth that gleamed like pearls. Camila chuckled as she dabbed at his drool.
"Oh dear," she murmured.
Isaac grinned at her. "Mila, don't you think Bowen's smile looks just like yours? Tiny and rosy."
Camila shot him a look. "I did give birth to him, it's no surprise he resembles me."
"No, it's really just the smile that's yours," Isaac teased as he scrutinized their son. "His nose, eyes, and cheeks — those are all mine."
Camila exhaled a soft sigh. She had carried him for ten months and endured a difficult labor, only for the child to mirror his father.
“Let's go!" Isaac announced, draping an arm around her shoulders.
They all headed to their cars; Rowena and Joe joined Eagle, while Isaac and Camila rode in a separate vehicle driven by a family chauffeur.
