Chapter: 2162
The receptionist bowed her head, unable to meet Camila's gaze.

Leaning against the wall, Camila sighed, “I don't visit the company often, but I'm certain they talk about me."

The receptionist murmured, "You think so?"

"Yes," Camila affirmed. “They must discuss my identity and how I managed to marry him."

The receptionist remained silent, seemingly acknowledging the truth in Camila's words.

Camila understood that if her family had matched Isaac's or if they had held a grand wedding, there would be fewer speculations.

"I understand now," Camila said dismissively. "You may return to your duties."

"But..." the receptionist hesitated. "I fear I've caused you trouble."

Camila waved off her concerns. “It's just idle gossip behind my back. None of them have the nerve to say it to my face."

Patting the receptionist on the shoulder, Camila advised, “Get back to work. And keep your distance from me; people might think you're trying to flatter me and even isolate you."

"Mrs. Johnston, you seem well-acquainted with office politics. May I ask what your role is?" inquired the receptionist.

"I'm a doctor," Camila replied casually.

Just then, the phone rang, and the receptionist checked it, revealing a screenshot from a friend. Someone sent a message in the chat group.

It read, "Mr. Johnston's wife is a doctor. Don't jump to conclusions. It's normal for a patient to gift a bouquet to their doctor. Don't speculate with inappropriate thoughts."

Looking up from her phone, the receptionist exclaimed, "Someone knows you're a doctor!"

"Maybe," Camila replied nonchalantly.

Her profession wasn't a secret, so it wasn't surprising if some people knew about it. She had nothing to hide.

Besides, in a large company Like theirs, news often got blocked among employees in lower positions.

"Alright, you can head back to work now," Camila instructed the receptionist before heading off to prepare coffee for Isaac.

"And also, don't take it too seriously," she added with a reassuring smile, to which the receptionist nodded in understanding.
