Chapter: 2188
Isaac's expression tightened and his gaze locked on her.
Before he could respond, Camila added, "I haven't spent enough time with the kids. It's time I put the family first."
She had always known Isaac was patient with her career ambitions.
Most of his work was remote, but this trip was clearly a big deal—something he couldn't handle from home.
"I know I can't help with your work but I'll handle everything here so you don't have to worry," she said.
Isaac lowered his eyes, not saying a word.
He understood the sacrifice Camila was making.
Surprisingly, Camila felt no regrets.
In every family, someone has to keep the home running.
Rowena had always encouraged her daughter to work but now she supported Camila's choice.
Rowena was still on her daughter's side.
The family was pretty big.
Both Camila and Isaac left early and got home late.
It felt Like the warmth of home had vanished.
Rowena patted her daughter's shoulder. "From now on, Joe is your responsibility."
Camila was his mother, after all.
She'd missed Joe's baby days; she didn't want to miss out on Bowen's too. Even though she saw him every day, she didn't handle his care.
"I will. Thanks for your help all this time, Mom," Camila replied, nodding.
Without Rowena, Camila couldn't have managed her job.
Taking care of Joe and Bowen wasn't easy—they were just little kids.
