Chapter: 2193
In another part of the world, Morrison noticed Laura's distracted state and asked, "What's wrong?"
Laura snapped out of her reverie and shook her head. "Nothing."
“You seem preoccupied," Morrison said.
As a thoughtful and observant man, he had noticed that something was bothering her.
Therefore, he gently pressed her shoulder and said, “You're about to give birth. You can't be depressed. If something is bothering you, tell me. I want to help."
After hesitating, Laura looked up at him and said, "I know the man named Aldrin."
Morrison was taken aback.
Laura had never mentioned this before.
"How did you come to know him?" he asked, his tone grave. "We've gathered some evidence suggesting his involvement in this case. Murder is a grave offense, Laura. It's best if you stay clear of this mess."
Laura looked at him earnestly and said, "He's Mila's half-brother, and I've always seen him as my own brother."
Morrison's brow furrowed at this revelation, prompting him to take a seat.
It was truly unexpected.
However, he understood the principle of equality before the law; everyone must face the consequences of their actions.
Adults should be held accountable for their deeds.
Despite these thoughts, Morrison offered solace to Laura. “Perhaps there's more to this story yet to be uncovered. Try not to dwell on it. Focus on yourself and the baby.”
Understanding his intent to comfort her, Laura grasped Morrison's hand tightly and asked anxiously, “Can you help him?"
Morrison flashed a comforting smile, hoping to ease her distress.
"Take a breath, Laura. Try not to let it weigh on you. Are you hungry? I could grab something for you. How about some fruit salad?"
Sweet and sour food was a favorite of Laura's, but her appetite had waned in light of recent events.
She shook her head softly, releasing a weary sigh. “Can you promise me you'll assist him?"
