Chapter: 2203
Laura met his gaze and said, "Thank you."

Morrison replied, "We're married. You don't have to thank me."

"I..." She wanted to say something but thought against it, then sighed. "Well..."

Morrison casually inquired, “Did you ever have a love triangle?"

Laura didn't show any surprise Morrison was so perceptive and sensitive Aldrin was clearly unsettled Morrison must have picked up on something.

She felt helpless and embarrassed. “I always saw him as a brother."

“Okay." Morrison reassured her, “I knew you wouldn't like that young man."

Resting her chin in her hand, Laura asked, "So, tell me, who do I Like?"

Morrison served her some food and said, “Obviously, it's me."

Laura was amused.

She admitted, "I played a part in what happened to Aldrin. If I hadn't left, he wouldn't have left home just to find me..."

“This is his destiny." He looked at her and advised, “Don't blame yourself for others' mistakes. I don't want you weighed down by these things."

Laura reached out and touched the back of his hand. "You're really like my life tutor. How come your words always bring me such clarity?"

"It's because you place too much emphasis on love that you find yourself in such turmoil," Morrison remarked thoughtfully.

Laura glanced at him, a hint of amusement in her eyes. “Are you complimenting me?" she teased.

“No, no, not at all. It's concerning to see you like this. You're too easily swayed by external influences. I believe true peace comes from clarity of mind," Morrison explained.

Laura furrowed her brow, contemplating his words. Wouldn't that make people cold-hearted?

Shouldn't everyone have someone in their life worth caring for?

Turning to Morrison, Laura posed a question, "You seem so composed. If something were to happen to me, would you immediately marry someone else? After all, women are more or less the same."

Morrison was taken aback, rendered momentarily speechless by her inquiry.
