Chapter: 2263
Laura agreed. She saw Morrison as someone a woman could trust with her life.

“I need to be good to him," Laura said.

Camila smiled in agreement. Someone like Morrison deserved to be cherished.

“May I see Aldrin?" Camila asked.

She might not have much time left.

Seeing Laura and Morrison safe gave her peace of mind.

There was no guarantee she'd visit again. So, she wanted to see Aldrin as well.

Laura called Colin, who arrived to take Camila to Aldrin.

Camila barely recognized him. He'd sustained minor injuries during the arrest- bruises on his face, gauze on his forehead.

He was thin and tanned, a stark contrast to his previous self.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

Regret clawed at her. Maybe if she'd spend more time looking for him, he wouldn't have gone down this path.

“Camila," Aldrin's voice broke the silence. He was in handcuffs, but a spark of life returned to his eyes when he saw Camila.

He wasn't as despondent as when they'd first apprehended him.

“Don't worry about me." His lips curled into smile.

Camila remained speechless.

“He... Is he okay?" Aldrin asked.

Morrison had taken a bullet for him. It earned him Aldrin's respect.

With a man like Morrison by her side, Laura would be safe and happy.

Camila wasn't sure who Aldrin was referring to. "Laura and her baby are both safe."
