Chapter: 2264
"I meant Morrison," Aldrin clarified.
Stunned for a moment, Camila quickly replied, "He's fine too."
Relief washed over Aldrin's face. "As long as he's alright. He sighed. "It's good, Laura having a girl."
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Camila offered.
"Don't worry about me, Camila," Aldrin said. "Laura and Morrison have been really good to me. I have to face the consequences of my actions."
Camila studied him. He seemed to have matured.
"I might not be here much longer," Camila said. "I need to leave, so..."
Aldrin nodded in understanding. "I know. Don't worry about me. You can go."
Camila looked down, wiping away a secret tear. She promised to visit again if she had the chance, then left.
Stepping out of the police station, Camila immediately booked two plane tickets back to Heinz.
Jovanni hadn't returned yet, and she'd be going back with him.
Willie was waiting for her there.
Before leaving, she met with Laura to explain her departure.
Laura didn't try to convince her to stay. Although Camila tried to appear carefree, Laura sensed something hidden beneath the surface and thought that Camila kept it to herself.
On the flight home, Camila was lost in thought, a frown marking her usually calm face.
Jovanni noticed her unease and inquired, "Morrison's safe now. What's still bothering you?"
Camila returned to the present with a sigh, glancing at Jovanni.
"It's something else on my mind," she admitted.
Understanding her need for space, Jovanni simply nodded. “I see."
Camila felt grateful for his understanding. “Thank you for everything this time," she expressed.
