Chapter: 2283
It was a sight that words struggled to capture fully.

"What happened?" Camila inquired with concern as she approached Eagle and Joe.

Eagle glanced at her and replied, "He took a tumble."

Reaching out her hands, Camila offered, "Let me take care of him."

Sensing the familiar comfort of his mother's embrace, Joe extended his arms eagerly.

As Eagle gently handed the sniffling Joe over to Camila's waiting arms, he asked, "Mrs. Johnston, are you feeling better?"

Forrest approached when he overheard Eagle's question. "Mila, did you get hurt?"

“It was only a sprained ankle. I'm fine now, Camila replied, addressing Eagle's concern."

Cradling Joe close, she carried him into the room. She gently wiped away the tears streaking his rosy cheeks and asked in a soothing tone, "Where does it hurt, my love?"

Joe's small finger pointed towards his head, and Camila's heart skipped a beat.

Carefully, she examined the area, relief washing over her when she found no visible injuries.

She pulled him into a tender embrace, her voice a calming balm.

“You're a brave boy. But if you cry too much, others might laugh at you."

Joe sniffled, his eyes still glistening with tears. “But it hurts," he protested.

Understanding his pain, Camila empathized, “I know it hurts when you bump your head. Can you tell me what happened?"

"I was playing with a ball and didn't see the steps," Joe explained, his voice still quivering slightly.

Camila brushed his hair back tenderly. "That's because you weren't being careful enough, my love. Your dad and I worry so much when you cry like this. You must be more cautious. If you fall over and neither of us can help, who will care for you?"

Joe blinked, his eyelashes still damp with tears, and wrapped his arms tightly around Camila's neck. “From now on, I won't leave you. I want you to worry about me forever."

Camila gave him a reassuring pat on the back.

She then carried him to the sofa, settling him comfortably against the cushions. With a gentle kiss on his forehead, Camila called Brent.
