Chapter: 2316
"Now's not the time to move. Let's find a safe place and then figure out how to help them," Isaac decided.
Their car was nearby, ready for them.
As Camila walked arm in arm with Isaac, she sensed his hesitation and looked at him, puzzled by his avoidance.
In a subdued tone, Isaac reassured, "I'm alright."
Initially, Camila's joy masked her awareness of his condition.
It was only when she realized he wasn't watching the road or focusing his gaze that concern washed over her.
She tested his sight by waving a hand before his eyes, but he showed no response, not even a flicker of movement.
Forrest watched in disbelief.
"Isaac"
Just as Forrest began to speak, Camila subtly signaled him to remain silent, sensing Isaac's vulnerability during this sensitive time.
Known for masking his feelings well, Isaac maintained his composure, though Camila could tell he was affected.
She continued to support him quietly. In fact, Isaac could sense the shift in their attitude, thinking they must have realized that he lost his sight. They didn't say it directly in order not to embarrass him. Therefore, Isaac also decided to keep calm and act as if he didn't realize anything.
They boarded the car and soon after, as they sped away, a gunshot rang out, striking the vehicle. Obviously, they were found out!
The car, though not bulletproof, had superior defensive capabilities compared to a standard vehicle.
Willie reacted swiftly, pressing the accelerator and executing a sharp U-turn on the rugged terrain, causing the car to wobble on the gravel-strewn road.
Camila, holding onto the handrail with one hand and gripping Isaac tightly with the other, was fraught with concern for him.
Isaac, blind and unable to see, could easily locate support within the car due to its familiar layout, yet he chose to remain in Camila's embrace, a wry smile of self-derision on his Lips.
Now reliant on a woman for protection, Isaac pondered whether this made him more vulnerable or grateful.
Willie's choice to drive this particular car proved prudent, its power evident as it navigated the rough terrain with ease.
The chase intensified as their pursuers shot at the car again, shattering the rear windshield.
