Chapter: 2356
He motioned for Willie to step back and then opened the box.
Inside, there was a black bag.
His face creased with a slight frown as he peered inside.
“What's in there?" Willie shouted from a safe distance.
Forrest stayed silent, staring at the bag. He hadn't looked inside yet.
But his experience as a doctor told him something was wrong. The stench of decaying meat filled the air.
A sudden fear gripped him.
What if there really was a body inside?
And if it was, would it be Alick? The thought made him freeze, unable to bring himself to open the bag.
His heart raced, and he felt sick with dread, his mind racing with fear and uncertainty.
Willie, unable to contain his curiosity, dashed toward Forrest.
Spotting the ominous black bag, he blurted out, “It's not a bomb. What could it be?"
Forrest looked grave, silent.
A flicker of realization crossed Willie's face, his lips tensing. "No way... It can't be," he murmured.
Attempting to reassure either Forrest or himself, he continued, “Alick is too smart. Even if he's caught, he'll find a way out.”
Forrest bent down, his hand moving to unzip the bag.
Willie squeezed his eyes shut, unable to bear the sight.
The rasp of the zipper seemed to grate on his eardrums. His lips moved silently, fear paralyzing him.
Finally, the bag gaped open. Relief flooded Forrest as he looked inside.
Thankfully, it wasn't a corpse, but a leg. A bloody leg lay crumpled within the black duffel.
