Annis pressed on, “I heard you mention him on the phone.”

Feeling the tension, Annis's unease grew as she observed Forrest's reluctance.

Turning to Camila, she implored, "Camila."

Camila, however, continued to help Rowena, ignoring Annis's plea.

Forrest moved to Camila's side and offered, "Let me help you."

Camila remained silent, not knowing how to respond.

Annis persisted, "Camila, just tell me!"

The room fell silent.

"Come in with me," Camila finally said, leading the way into the room with Annis following.

Once inside, Camila confessed, "Alick was with us when we went to find Isaac. He got caught covering our escape." It was clear that she could no longer hide the truth.

Annis stood frozen, her fists clenched tightly.

“We are also worried about him," Camila continued.

“Then why are you just waiting here doing nothing?" Annis asked.

Her voice carried a hint of resentment.

“We don't know much about that group," Camila explained. “Isaac has his people looking into them. We're doing everything we can to find Alick. Annis, we would never abandon him. Why would you think that of Isaac and me?"

Annis remained quiet, the weight of the situation settling in.

"It's fine," Camila reassured her, understanding the root of Annis's worries. "We're all concerned. We kept it from you because we didn't want to add to your anxiety."

Annis responded, “I know you're doing this for my best interest. But you should have told me sooner. You can't keep this from me forever. I would have found out eventually."
