Chapter: 2382
Laura smiled again.

After a while, the dishes arrived. While enjoying dinner, Morrison's phone rang. He answered it, listened to the caller, and then replied with a simple "Alright," before ending the call.

Laura served him some food and asked, “Who was that?"

"I need to go to the police station," Morrison said casually.

Laura's brow furrowed, and she asked with a little displeasure, "You have a new task? Didn't they promise you a day off? The holiday isn't even over yet!"

Morrison took the food Laura offered and ate it. "Don't worry too much. It might not be a task."

Laura responded, “You work so hard. You must be exhausted."

Even his holidays weren't relaxing!

"Isn't my job already familiar to you?" He served some food to Laura and reassured her gently, "I'll do my best to find time for you and our daughter."

"I know what your job involves. What bothers me is that you haven't fully recovered from your injury," Laura said.

She was concerned about Morrison's health.

Morrison offered a smile.

Seeing his smile, Laura said, “How can you still smile knowing your holiday might be cut short?"

“I smile because I'm happy you care about me. It's not about the job,"

Morrison answered earnestly, looking at her.

Laura remained quiet for a moment.

Feeling awkward, she coughed lightly and said, “Let's focus on our meal."

After they finished eating, Laura stepped out of the restaurant and reached to take the baby from Morrison's arms.

Morrison held onto the baby. "I'll drive you home first, then head to the station."

"Will you be late for work?" Laura asked.
