Chapter: 2394
“Laura's child has a father, and it's not you," Camila responded.

Forrest paused, clutching his chest. "You're really hitting where it hurts."

"I'm making you see the reality," Camila stated.

"I've always seen the reality, okay? Why do you think I'm so bad? Did I make things difficult for Laura last time?" Forrest retorted.

Camila remained silent.

"Why don't you trust me at all? Do you think I'm so clueless and useless?" Forrest continued, stretching his wrist. "Fine, I won't argue with you. But I'm going to deal with your son, and you can't interfere."

Camila blinked. Since Forrest had promised that he wouldn't go to Laura, she knew she needed to promise one thing to him in return.

"I absolutely won't interfere."

She stood up and turned to head back to the study, telling herself that it was time for her son to "sacrifice" himself for the peace of her friend. With this thought in mind, she entered the room.

Forrest ran his fingers through his hair, which now looked like a frizzy perm from being tied up. He didn't bother to fix it, considering he wasn't outside. What image did he need to maintain?

At that moment, Eagle was showing Joe how to throw a ball. Joe was deeply interested and took the lesson seriously. They weren't practicing the complex high-basket shots for adults, but rather a child-friendly version. Joe was picking it up quite well.

When Joe saw Forrest approaching, he sensed trouble. “Let's go quickly, Forrest is here," he whispered.

Eagle frowned. Hadn't Forrest been tied up?

When he turned to look, he saw Forrest indeed coming toward them.

Quickly, he scooped up Joe and used his speed to make a swift getaway!

Forrest called out from behind, “You can run now, but can you escape forever?"

Eagle furrowed his brow. “How did you manage to break the rope?" He was sure the knot he had crafted was impossible for Forrest to untie on his own. Clearly, someone had assisted him.

Forrest let out a low chuckle. “Looks like someone's turned on you.”

Joe's eyes widened in shock. "Who would betray us?"

“Believe it or not, your own mother," Forrest shot back.
