Chapter: 2402
Forrest felt a pang of regret for pressing the boy.
Brewster kept his gaze downward. “I'm fine."
After a moment of silence, Forrest spoke. "You can live here from now on."
The boy nodded quietly.
Forrest stood up, ready to leave.
The boy halted him with a question, "What should I call you?"
“Forrest.”
"Well..." The boy hesitated before finally asking, “Could you lend me some money?"
Forrest paused to look at him for a moment, then casually reached into his pocket. "How much do you need?"
“It's up to you," the boy replied, his voice low.
Surprisingly, Forrest handed him all the cash he had on him, without asking any questions.
He knew the boy had just escaped a difficult situation and it was normal for him to be without money.
"I'll pay you back someday," the boy said earnestly.
"You don't have to," Forrest replied.
Willie had informed him of the boy's circumstances: orphaned and penniless after escaping danger.
Forrest felt there was no need to press him for repayment.
The boy remained silent.
"Take care of yourself," Forrest said before leaving the hotel.
Upon returning to his residence, Camila approached him with a question, "Who came to look for you?"
Forrest stared at her for a moment before responding sharply, “Why should I have to tell you?"
