Chapter: 2403
Taken aback, Camila fell silent.
Forrest continued bitterly, "I can't even visit my own child."
Camila was speechless again, realizing Forrest was still harboring resentment.
“Do you understand the difference between Liking someone and loving them?" she ventured.
“What kind of question is that? Of course, I do," Forrest snapped back.
"Then tell me, do you like Laura, or do you love her?" Camila pressed.
Forrest was caught off guard by her question.
He remembered the first time he saw Laura, how his heart raced, and he believed she felt the same.
While they were together, he felt certain they liked each other.
Later on, their long relationship had developed deep emotional bonds - surely, that was love, wasn't it?
That was his understanding. Suddenly, Forrest sensed an underlying motive in her question. “Camila, what are you trying to say? What exactly do you want me to know?"
Camila sat down and fixed her gaze on Forrest. "Forrest, we need to talk seriously."
Forrest took the seat across from her.
But his eyes were glued to her face.
“Of course I'm serious," he said, his voice firm.
"You said you wanted to see Laura just because of the child. Are you lying to me, or is that the truth?" Camila asked, her eyes not leaving his.
Forrest was caught off guard and momentarily speechless.
He felt a pang of hesitation.
If he couldn't see his own child, it would fill him with a deep sense of regret and sadness.
Camila's interference only added to his frustration.
