Chapter: 2438
Turning away to hide her emotion, Camila retorted, “Fine, I won't go. Just leave, please!"
Isaac could sense her frustration.
But he felt helpless.
He couldn't even discern her exact location in the room, let alone approach her to offer comfort.
He inhaled deeply, trying to soothe the tension. “Please, don't be upset."
Camila recognized her reaction might be unjustified.
Yet, discomfort gnawed at her.
Upon reflecting further, she realized Isaac's insistence stemmed from his concern for her well-being. Reluctantly, she conceded, "I understand."
That day, Camila sent Isaac away from Clouland.
She gazed at the airplane slicing through the sky, her thoughts drifting.
Lately, it seemed everyone was constantly on the move.
When would the peaceful life finally return to them?
Her face creased with concern.
Morrison fell into a sullen silence, chiding himself for his earlier rudeness.
Laura, too, was uneasy.
She remembered how rude he had been when they were intimate.
Words failed her, and she remained quiet.
At dinner, Morrison attempted to serve Laura some food, but she promptly returned it to the plate.
Undeterred, Morrison retrieved the food and placed it back into his own bowl.
"I have to return to work tomorrow," he announced, signaling the end of his holiday.
