Chapter: 2439
Laura silently set her bowl down and retreated to her room, leaving Morrison to watch her departing figure with a heavy sigh.
After cleaning up the kitchen and finishing the dishes, Morrison took a shower. When he returned to the bedroom, he found Laura already in bed.
As he was about to lie down, Laura's voice cut through the silence.
"You should sleep in another room tonight."
Ignoring her request, Morrison lay beside her and draped an arm around her waist.
This only infuriated Laura, who pushed him away. "Don't touch me," she snapped.
This was likely the first time Laura had felt such intense anger toward him.
Morrison stayed quiet.
Laura sat up, confronting him, "What are you trying to say? Why did you treat me that way? I'm your wife. How do you see me?"
At that moment, she felt no warmth from him at all.
He was harsh and aggressive.
This was uncharacteristic of him; he had never acted this way before.
Typically, no matter how passionate things got, he always considered her feelings.
He would never do anything to make her feel uneasy.
It was his consistent consideration that had made her so open-minded!
But... This time... She was unsure.
She pondered deeply.
Was it because Morrison had grown too comfortable now that he had her affection?
Did he think he no longer needed to value her as much?
Yet, she believed Morrison wasn't the type to take her for granted.
