He finally grasped how Alick had captivated Annis.

She was too naive.

She accepted his statement without hesitation.

Suddenly, Forrest burst into laughter.

“What's so amusing?" Annis fixed him with a stare. "Aren't you feeling heartbroken?"

"He's not heartbroken; he's simply lost his sanity."

A cold, derisive voice echoed from behind.

Forrest sharply turned around and saw Alick standing just a few feet away from him.

With an awkward smile on his face, Forrest asked, "What are you doing away from the room? You are still injured and shouldn't be stressing your body."

Frowning, Alick retorted, "How would I have heard the shameless words you just spewed out if I were in the room?" Turning to face Annis, Alick said coldly, "Come here, Annis."

Hearing this, Annis instantly walked up to him.

With a sober voice, she asked, "Are you cross?"

Gritting his teeth, Alick replied, "Not at you."

Forrest raised an eyebrow in amusement and asked, "Am I the one you are angry at?"

"Shouldn't it be obvious?"

Alick retorted as Annis helped him sit down.

Forest shook his head and scoffed, “Considering how lame and weak you are, I still can't figure out why you would choose not to stay in the room."

“What the hell are you talking about?" Annis sneered.

Forrest was overstepping his boundaries!

Alick restrained her and said calmly, "There's no need to get angry, Annis. Haven't you ever wondered why he is alone and doesn't have a girlfriend? It's simply because he has no control over that vicious mouth of his."
