What could have happened?

It wasn't irrational for her to be concerned.

Too many things had happened recently.

She couldn't help overthinking.

After a while, still anxious, she tried his number once more.

This time, the call was eventually picked up.

Camila asked directly, "Forrest, where are you? Why didn't you pick up earlier?"

"Who is this?" a woman's voice responded from the other end.

Hearing that, Camila was taken aback.

A woman's voice on the other end caught Camila off guard.

Who could she be?

Tentatively, Camila inquired, "I'm looking for Forrest."

"Oh, he's taking a shower..." came the response, leaving Camila momentarily speechless.

“I understand. When he's done, could you have him call me back..."

Camila began, only to be cut off mid-sentence.

“Well, I think he might not have the time," the woman interjected.

Camila's brows furrowed, a flicker of annoyance crossing her features.

Did the woman on the other end presume there was something more between her and Forrest?

Was she attempting to assert her dominance?

"I'm not his girlfriend, just a friend. I need to talk to him, that's all," Camila clarified, her tone firm. "Please have him return my call."
