Chapter: 2490
However, she remained silent and continued moving forward.

Camila reached out, grasping Forrest's arm to halt him, but he shrugged off her hold. “If he cheated on you, I'll make him pay,"

Forrest declared.

“Forrest, you're acting without thinking," Camila chided, her brow furrowed in concern.

“I'm thinking perfectly clearly," Forrest countered. At that moment, his thoughts were, indeed, lucid.

Morrison had assured him that he would take good care of Laura, but seeing her in such a state now stirred a fierce anger within him.

How could he remain calm?

Laura, still not responding to any inquiries, led them into the residential area where she lived with Morrison.

The neighborhood was somewhat old but well-maintained and more expansive than the newer developments.

As they walked down the dimly lit corridor and Laura unlocked the door, she simply invited them in. “Come in.”

Camila and Forrest followed her inside.

It was their first visit, and they noticed immediately that the apartment was modest and unpretentious.

Yet, Laura had infused it with a warmth and coziness.

Clothes hung on the balcony to dry and the window stood open.

A gentle breeze set the clothes dancing on the Line.

The plants adorning the balcony flourished under its touch.

Sunlight bathed the living room in a warm glow, casting a gentle halo around the stroller.

It was a serene and lovely scene.

Laura arranged the items she had packed earlier on the sofa, then filled two glasses with water.

"These belong to the baby," she explained.
