Chapter: 2491
“What's going on with Morrison? How bad is it?" Camila inquired.
Seated beside the table, Laura gazed down at the baby cradled in her arms and replied, “Please, don't ask."
Camila pressed her Lips together, opting to remain silent.
Forrest had been visibly agitated since his arrival at Laura's.
“If you didn't want us involved, why call us here?" he questioned, his temper flaring.
His irritation wasn't truly directed at Laura.
He felt excluded by her reluctance to disclose what had occurred, interpreting it as her way of protecting Morrison.
This only convinced him more that Morrison must be at fault.
"You chose such a man for yourself? He's no better than I was. You're still making the same mistakes - first with one man, now again with another," he lamented.
"That's enough. Can you just stop?" Camila interjected, pulling Forrest back by the arm.
Forrest's frustration was palpable. He pointed at Laura and asked Camila, "Can't you see she's still defending him?"
With a frown, he spoke in a low voice. "Laura doesn't want to tell us. She must have her reasons..."
“What reasons? She has chosen the wrong man. She refuses to admit it and won't say it out loud. She didn't want others to know that she feels foolish," Forrest said angrily, but Laura remained silent.
If she ever said Morrison was at fault, Forrest would go and confront him immediately!
He would stand up for her.
If he couldn't be her lover, he would act like her family.
He was ready to support and protect her.
Camila glanced at Laura.
Holding her baby, Laura looked down.
Camila sensed her reluctance to part with her child.
