"Did he have an accident, or was there an affair?" Camila inquired, her voice laced with curiosity.

Forrest's gaze dropped to the floor as he said, “There was an accident."

Camilla's expression instantly changed.

She was aware that Morrison's job was dangerous.

But...

She was finding it hard to accept that something bad had occurred.

After all, Laura had been through a lot before finally finding a good man.

"Is it serious?" she asked softly.

Forrest nodded and replied, “They're yet to find the body.. Sitting heavily on the edge of the bed, Camila wondered out loud, “How could this happen?"

Forrest inhaled deeply. Mixed emotions swirled inside him.

If nothing had happened to Morrison, Laura wouldn't have given him his daughter.

He had envisioned that he would only be able to watch the child from a distance for the rest of his life. He would probably never even hear her address him as her father.

Now that something had befallen Morrison, he had been reunited with his daughter.

However, Laura's happy Life might be over.

Finally, Laura had answered his questions.

So he knew what was running through her mind.

He met Camila's eyes and said, “Laura gave me the baby because she is consumed with guilt."

"What are you talking about?" asked Camila.

"She argued with Morrison. He took the undercover job because of this argument. And now, an accident happened and no one knows if he is alive or dead," explained Forrest gently.

Camila blinked slowly and muttered, "So you're saying, he might not necessarily be dead..."
