Chapter: 2512
Camila nestled closer, her response barely above a whisper. “If I had told you beforehand, you wouldn't have let me come."
Isaac took a deep breath and said, "I simply didn't want you to witness me in this state."
"You're my husband," Camila responded, lifting her gaze to meet his.
"I love you regardless of circumstance."
With those words, she leaned in and kissed him gently on the Lips.
Isaac tensed slightly, his muscles tightening as he spoke in a hoarse voice. “I reek of medicine."
Camila met his gaze.
It wasn't just about the scent; it was about his loss of sight and inability to initiate things himself, which made him feel diminished.
He had always been in control.
She smiled, her reassurance unwavering. "That doesn't matter to me. What matters is you."
A smile broke out on Isaac's lips, mirroring hers.
Resting her head against his chest, Camila listened to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. “Promise me you won't push me away. Let me be here for you," she implored softly.
Isaac remained silent for a moment, then responded gently, "Okay."
Camila's eyes widened, and she spoke with a hint of tremor in her lashes. "Laura's peaceful life shattered once more. Something serious has happened to Morrison, and we don't know if he's alive or dead. But I know Laura. She wouldn't have entrusted the child to Forrest if Morrison were alive. She and Forrest were deeply in love during their school days, and many envied their relationship. But now, it seems they can never be together again. My heart breaks for them."
Clutching Isaac tighter, she continued, "I don't want us to end up like them, I want to be with you, always, forever..."
Isaac responded by gently patting her back, offering comfort through his touch. “Don't worry. We will be fine," he reassured her, his voice calm and steady.
Their situation differed.
"We're not like them," he added.
Perhaps the destinies of Forrest and Laura were divinely ordained; their paths were destined to diverge.
"Did you miss me?" Camila inquired softly.
