Chapter: 2521
"Mommy!" he cried, rubbing his face against her legs. “I missed you so much,"
“I missed you too," Camila said, lifting him with some effort.
Joe was getting taller, making it harder for her to carry him.
Rowena approached Isaac, concern evident on her face. “Are you all right?" she asked.
Isaac nodded. "Yes, I'm fine."
Forrest stepped forward, a broad smile on his face. "It's so good that you can see again," he said, before launching into his news.
"Isaac, I have a daughter."
Isaac wasn't surprised; Camila had already told him.
Forrest, however, was bursting with joy. "I have a daughter. Aren't you jealous?"
Isaac, holding Bowen in his arms, gave Forrest a dismissive glance.
“Jealous of you?" he replied coolly.
Forrest said with a hint of pride, "Yes, you should envy me. I have a daughter, and you don't."
Isaac responded with a gentle smile, "Your daughter is yours now, Forrest. But what if one day she gets married? By then, she may have to bear another man's surname. As for my sons, they can get married but still keep their surname."
This left Forrest dumbfounded.
What did Isaac mean? Was he suggesting that after getting married, Forrest's daughter would gradually forget about him?
Absurd.
She would always be his daughter. How could that ever change? He pondered.
Yet, an unsettling thought soon dawned on him.
Realization hit, and his brows furrowed. "Isaac!" he called out, catching up to him. "Watch your sons closely — keep them away from my daughter."
Cradling his younger son, Isaac chuckled softly. “Don't flaunt your blessings too much, Forrest. If you push too hard, perhaps one day, your daughter might choose to join my family instead."
