Chapter: 2522
Forrest was left speechless once more, his mind reeling at the thought of his cherished daughter potentially becoming someone else's partner.
Isaac's teasing clearly touched a nerve with Forrest, whose protective instincts flared up at the suggestion that his daughter might someday be part of Isaac's family.
Forrest was sure his daughter wouldn't favor Isaac's sons.
“In your dreams," Forrest muttered dismissively.
No one could claim his daughter!
Isaac didn't want to escalate the argument. Forrest had only recently become a father to a daughter, yet he was already deeply attached to her.
"Then keep your daughter by your side forever," Isaac retorted lightly.
Forrest was momentarily lost for words. He didn't actually envision his daughter remaining unmarried and by his side forever. He had dreams of her marrying a promising young man in the future.
In truth, marrying one of Isaac's sons didn't seem like such a terrible idea.
Isaac was wealthy, and neither he nor Camila were unattractive. Their offspring would likely be just as pleasing.
Plus, Forrest could monitor and groom the boys from a young age, ensuring his daughter's future happiness.
He could carefully select the better match for her.
If she married one of Isaac's sons, that son would also become his son-in-law. After all, isn't a son-in-law half a son?
It was a move that appealed to him.
Continuing the conversation, Forrest remarked, “I think Joe should start school soon." It was essential to begin shaping a son-in-law's education early on.
Isaac narrowed his eyes at Forrest's suggestion. "That's my son. Why are you so concerned?"
Forrest grinned. "Just looking out for you, buddy."
"Nice attempt," Isaac retorted, seeing right through Forrest's intentions.
Forrest lapsed into silence, wondering if his plan was too transparent. But he shrugged it off. “Well, your boys are both promising," he remarked, trying to steer the conversation back.
Isaac cut in firmly, “My sons are too young to be betrothed."
