Joe blinked his big eyes and looked at Isaac expectantly, hoping for approval from his father.

Isaac bit off a piece of beef and made a show of tasting it.

Then he nodded seriously and said, "Not bad."

Joe blinked for a moment, seemingly thinking if Isaac's words were praise.

Then, he giggled and ran away.

The sight of happiness brought warmth to Camila, and she couldn't help but smile.

Suddenly, the phone in her pocket rang.

She took it out and answered.

A man's voice came from the other end. "Are you a friend of Laura's?"

Camila vaguely recognized the man's voice to be from one of Morrison's teammates on a trip to Starhaven.

"Yes," she answered. “Why do you have Laura's phone? Where is she?"

Something in her gut told Camila that something was wrong.

If Laura had something to tell her, she would have contacted Camila herself, so why was it that it was another person who was on the phone with Camila right now?
