Chapter: 637
Was Isaac doing this on purpose?
He already had the backing of some directors in the company.
Robin was convinced that Isaac, too, had devised something behind the scenes.
There was no way his grandson would forsake his position and give up the company just like that.
“Mr. Robin Johnston," another director piped up. "I think we can all agree that the company's stock value has fallen because of Travis’ misdeeds, which the media has conveniently blown up. Don't you think we should hold him accountable for this? And since he is detained, wouldn't you agree that Gunter should give us an explanation on behalf of his son?"
A lot of them had started to panic when they heard Isaac's intention to leave the company.
They weren't all idiots. Even those who were motivated by selfish interests knew Isaac's value to the business.
If he left, the Paramount Corporation was bound to plunge into decline. They had to try their best to keep him as their CEO.
Meanwhile, Robin scowled at the man's words.
Gunter, who could no longer stay calm, chose that moment to butt in.
“Sure, Travis might have caused an issue, but as the CEO, shouldn't Isaac have taken measures to minimize the Loss incurred by the company? I heard that he wasn't bothered by it, and simply relegated the task to the Public Relations Department. If he had overseen the matter properly, perhaps the stocks wouldn't have fallen!"
Another pregnant silence followed after his outburst.
It was true that Isaac hadn't done anything to prevent the shares from crashing.
Gunter had a point.
Even so, Isaac merely turned on his heel and headed toward the door, as if he didn't have a care in the world.
Gunter slammed his fist on the table and shot to his feet. "Stop right there, Isaac! What the hell is wrong with you? Your grandfather is still here, how can you be so impertinent? Even if he wasn't, I am still your uncle! How dare you disrespect us like this!?"
Isaac didn't break his stride, not even glance back.
Exasperated, Gunter turned to Robin. "Dad, look! You've spoiled that brat too much! He doesn't even have manners!"
But Robin was well aware of Isaac's temperament.
He ignored Gunter and dove deep into his thoughts
Did Isaac really not care about the CEO position?
Or was it that he had a backup plan?
"Dad..." Gunter whined.
“Shut up!" Robin glared at his son, annoyed that the younger man couldn't keep his composure. Even Isaac hadn't been this rattled.
“Since we couldn't seem to agree on a single conclusion, this meeting is adjourned." The meeting was going nowhere, anyway, so he might as well dismiss it for now.
