Chapter: 767
Of course, Travis already knew the answer to this. Alick was scammed. How could they get their money back from a foreign company?!
They must've used fake identities as well. Where would they even begin to find them? "I was careless," Alick said apologetically.
"Do you think I'll let you go just because you told me you were careless?" Travis wasn't stupid. He knew that Alick was at fault here. Thus, he should bear the consequences of his mistake.
“So what are you going to do to make up for this?" Travis asked, looking straight into Alick's eyes.
Alick withdrew his gaze for a second before flashing him a flattering smile. "I didn't mean to do this—"
"I don't want to hear your excuses," Travis interrupted impatiently. Alick scratched his head in embarrassment and said, "Well, my entire fortune is tied to this project. Even if you ask me to give you money,
I'm afraid..."
“If you can't afford it, then just transfer the shares to me." Travis thought this was a smart idea. He continued, “According to the contract we've signed before, the shares are divided equally between the two of us. Now, I won't hold you accountable if you give me eighty percent while you get the rest. Let's sign another contract and make it official."
Unbeknownst to him, this was exactly what Alick wanted. He wanted to agree to it immediately, but held it back and maintained a stoic expression.
He even pretended to be a bit reluctant. "No. I promise I can return this money to you in the future. I can't transfer my shares—"
“If you don't give up your shares, what else can you give me?" Travis asked.
Alick pursed his Lips and looked away.
Travis took his silence as an answer and said, “Since you don't have anything valuable, your only choice is to agree with me."
“But I'll only be left with twenty percent of the shares. Doesn't that mean I'm essentially working for you? Besides, I've invested a lot of money in this project at the very beginning. In fact, even after losing a billion of yours, I've still contributed more money to this than you. You're squeezing me with your proposal!"
Travis gnashed his teeth. Right now, he was planning to snatch the new product from Alick and claim it to be his own.
"If you don't agree, then give me back the lost money immediately!" Travis insisted.
Alick let out a resigned sign before putting on a pitiful look. "Fine, fine. I can sign a contract with you. You get eighty percent. However, I have a condition. Once I return the money to you, then our shares will be even again.”
Travis thought about this for a while and then agreed.
“Okay. But now, the main owner of this project is me.”
"Okay," Alick responded through gritted teeth.
“I'LL have someone draw up the contract right now." Travis was afraid that Alick might go back on his words.
That day, before leaving the Hexagon Inc., they made sure to sign the contract.
Once the contract had been signed, Travis felt a little better. Finally, something was going according his way.
He held the contract in his hand as a complacent smile formed on his lips.
With eighty percent of the shares under his control, he now had the final say regarding the affairs of the Hexagon Inc.
