Chapter: 3907
Suddenly, Jeslyn rushed downstairs like a whirlwind.
Albert smiled.
In the parking lot, as Jessie prepared to enter her car, she was stopped by a pair of slender arms wrapping around her thighs from behind. A fragile voice behind her pleaded, "Please don't leave. You can't leave."
The tone was both commanding and sorrowful.
Jessie froze in place. Despite whatever Jeslyn had experienced, Jessie considered her the one she should despise the most. Even after all these years, Jessie vividly remembered the moment Daisy, heavily pregnant, had slapped her across the face.
Jessie lifted her head slightly and said softly, "You're correct about one thing. I don't like you. Not at all. Why would I?"
With that, Jessie freed herself from Jeslyn's grasp, hurried into the car, and swiftly started the engine.
After driving for a distance, Jessie glimpsed in the rearview mirror to see the slender figure of the small child standing in the twilight, clad in a stunning dress, yet her face betrayed deep sadness.
Jeslyn remained stationary, observing the car as it drove off, showing no intention of returning home.
"Miss Jeslyn is simply adorable. She's so well-behaved and charming."
"Knowing you'd be here, she insisted I give her a bath and carefully style her hair. I believe she's quite fond of you."
Elsie's words replayed in Jessie's mind.
In her heart, she harbored a deep sense of self-loathing. She felt immense sympathy for Jeslyn, perceiving her as abandoned, much Like she had once felt herself. To Jessie, Jeslyn was like a homeless puppy in need of care and compassion.
Stop! Stop!
Before Jessie could fully comprehend, the white BMW screeched to a halt, the abrupt brake echoing through the vicinity of the villa.
Jessie remained seated in the car.
She reasoned that if Jeslyn, despite her less-than-ideal demeanor, was willing to come and ask her to stay once more, then she would consider agreeing to tutor her.
However, Jessie waited patiently for Jeslyn's approach, but to no avail.
Jessie lowered the window and glanced behind her. Jeslyn remained in the same spot, her dress swaying gently in the breeze.
Jessie stared at Jeslyn.
