Chapter: 3966
She handed Jeslyn a glass of warm water.
Just as Jeslyn was miffed about Jessie's departure, Debra approached, wearing an overly warm expression. Jeslyn regarded her with disdain, “Drink too much and I'll need the bathroom."
Debra aimed to explain professionally.
Jeslyn was impatient. "I just chowed down on wontons and soup.

Debra's expression froze.
She'd dealt with kids from wealthy families, but never encountered such rudeness. She wanted to discipline Jeslyn, thinking it would ease Albert's worries.

Axell's expression soured.
At this point, Albert wouldn't let Jessie and Axell stay tight. Even if Jessie ended up mad at him, he wouldn't regret it.
Albert exited, shutting the door behind him. "Dr. Calderon, could we please have a word?"
Axell locked eyes with Albert.
They strolled to the smoking spot. Axell, off duty, shed his white lab coat and snagged a smoke from Albert. With wisps of smoke swirling, Albert casually remarked, “It seems Like Jessie's just one of your options. Debra ticks all the boxes for you and your folks.”
Albert had hit the nail on the head, and Axell felt a twinge of annoyance.
Albert was seasoned in reading people.
