Chapter: 4457
“Let's not stir up trouble. Don't you wealthy people value your lives? This isn't a game."
Leonel shrugged off his coat before Sampson could finish.
Equipping himself with a flashlight and helmet borrowed from the others, Leonel dropped to the ground and began to crawl forward.
“Pull him back," Sampson ordered, pointing at Leonel.
No one moved.
Just as Sampson prepared to do something, Leonel's voice rang out clearly. “I've already made myself clear. I'll go to her. We have kids to raise, but our parents are still alive, and I also have siblings who can help if we die here. But I have only one wife, and I'm the only one who can go in and save her now."
With a gentle touch to the hemostatic in his trouser pocket, Leonel affirmed his resolve.
He persisted in crawling further inside.
The hole proved to be exceedingly small and constricted. With each inch he advanced, it seemed to tighten even more. His legs were nearly pinned to the ground, causing intense friction and discomfort, before he managed to maneuver through. Soon, his left leg throbbed with abrasions and burning sensations, but he ignored it. All he cared about was reaching Alexis as quickly as possible, longing to see her alive.
The scent of blood grew increasingly intense, causing his heart to race, but he remained resolute.
He held onto the firm belief that Alexis was still alive. Just before her departure, they had discussed getting married, a promise echoing in his mind. She had teased about teaching him a lesson, seeing a therapist together, and having lots of sexy Lingerie waiting for him.
The passage grew tighter and tighter. Leonel refrained from pushing upwards. Instead, he pressed against the ground as he crawled forward.
Blood continued to trickle from his thighs, staining the ground red.
Sampson's eyes welled with tears. “What's up with the rich?"
“Hold on. Give him a few minutes." Maybe Leonel could rescue his wife after all. Perhaps miracles were possible after all.
Though it was only a few meters, it felt like an eternity to Leonel.
Searching for Alexis' phone, he inched forward. Finally, he felt her finger, a faint warmth in the chill. When he found her pulse, joy nearly overwhelmed him.
Alexis was still alive.
However, his fingers also brushed against something wet on the ground.
Alexis was bleeding profusely.
