Olivia and Laura were on the sofa, Laura teaching Olivia to knit socks. A car's engine sounded outside. When it stopped, Edwin leapt out.

His pace was brisk, his expression sterner than ever.

"Edwin!"

Seeing him return, Laura stood up, concern in her voice. “Weren't you supposed to have an important engagement tonight?"

Edwin looked at Olivia and instructed Laura, “Just grab my passport. Marcus and I need to head to Amstdora."

Laura froze.

Edwin repeated himself, prompting Laura to quickly ascend the stairs for his passport.

When she returned, Laura felt her legs trembled. She knew Edwin too well; his demeanor hinted at something grave, especially since Marcus was also involved.

Amstdora. There could only be one reason.

Something had happened to Dylan.

Laura refrained from even asking anything, fearing it might upset Olivia, who was over seven months pregnant.

Downstairs, Olivia was equally stunned.

Regaining her composure, she asked softly, “Edwin, has something happened to Dylan?"

Edwin hesitated.

Eventually, he chose not to conceal the truth, as it was already widely known.

Trying to manage his emotions, Edwin revealed, “Dylan's helicopter crashed in the mountains. They haven't found him yet, so there's still hope. Marcus and I are heading there immediately. Laura will stay with you. Mom and Dad have come from Czanch and will arrive soon."

Olivia's lips quivered as tears streamed down her face.

Edwin placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, his voice hoarse, “Dylan cares most about you and the baby. Please, stay strong, and take care of yourself and the baby for him."

Olivia fought back tears.

She didn't propose joining Edwin, knowing her condition could hinder them. Clutching Edwin's hand, she pleaded, “Edwin, you must bring Dylan back."

Edwin nodded, his eyes filled with moisture.

He then glanced at his wife.

Laura wrapped her arms around Olivia, sharing a wordless understanding with Edwin after years of marriage.

Edwin departed.
