“Frankly, I never had a crush on you, and you've always known that. So, no one in this relationship deserves to be blamed."

Sharon stared at the check for a moment.

Then, with tears in her eyes, she said, “Fine! I'd like to see how you'll be able to get back with Olivia! In addition to this check, you need to also give me two percent of the shares of the company. Do you agree to that?"

But to her surprise, Raphael said no.

"I can't give you any part of the shares, but I'll give you another twenty million. Fair enough?"

Kiley felt Raphael was being too generous and she quickly told him as much. “Son, are you out of your mind?" she scolded.

But Raphael saw things differently. He felt it would be ideal if he could solve the problem with money. He had a feeling that Sharon didn't care about him as much as she claimed. She was only reluctant to end her relationship with him because the possible compensation was below her expectation.

Eventually, she took the money Raphael offered her and left without looking back. Her pride had since been crushed when she found out that Raphael had sex with Olivia. Right now, she felt she had to find another man in order to prove to herself that she was an attractive woman.

As far as she was concerned, she could live a better life without Raphael.

Now that Sharon had left, only Kiley and Raphael remained in the apartment.

Kiley sat next to him and asked in a low voice, "Tell me the truth, son, is that child really yours or not?"

Raphael closed his eyes and said flatly, "No! The baby belongs to Dylan."

Kiley found this suspicious.

After thinking for a while, she couldn't help but murmur, “That child really does resemble you. Besides, Dylan's father is a foreigner, but the baby looks nothing like mixed-race. I hope you aren't lying to me; are you?"

At this point, Raphael couldn't endure it anymore.

He opened his eyes and groaned in frustration, "Mom, you've been talking about the child since you came in! Have you ever thought about me and how I feel, huh? Or you simply don't think my feelings are important? Back then, when you went to confront Olivia, why didn't you inform me, huh?"

Kiley was stunned to hear this.

It took a while for her to recover her composure, and she promptly retorted in a trembling voice, “What's wrong with that? Raphael, are you blaming me?"

Raphael turned to her and said emphatically, "Back then, Olivia was pregnant with my child. But thanks to you, the child was gone!"

Kiley was shell-shocked for the umpteenth time.

"Mom, Olivia was only twenty years old when she had lost that baby,"

Raphael added in a hoarse voice.

Raphael felt a rush of guilt wash over him after those words left his mouth.

He'd just found out that Olivia had suffered greatly from their past relationship, while he'd spent eight years resenting her without knowing what she had been through at all.
